Hello Matt!
Welcome to WWYC and you did ok for sure in the arrl ssb. I made
about 170 contacts in my first contest, the time I tried contest for
the first time but it was not serious though. Later I got invited to
SM3PZG to work a few hours in the WPX SSB and what a blast! I
was working with GREAT Force 12 antennas, Alpha 91b and a
FT1000MP.......after that experince I started doing contests more
serious. I won SOAB LP in Sweden in the 1998 CQWW SSB
contest from home and made some more serious efforts from
SK3LH and 2.7Meg in CQWW SSB last year so it always starts
with small numbers.
Contesting from Sweden is pretty much the same as from the
states I guess except that we in the northern Sweden get really
BIG problems when the aurora appears..........
Keep up the good work Matt and you will for sure be invited to
some big contest stations if you just stay active and work ALOT of
contests........!!!
Bye and Welcome!
73 // Mike (SM3WMV // SM3W)
Keep up the hamspirit and enjoy hamradio contesting!!
