In conclusion:

We're a club. Vote for who you want. Lets not influence votes ffs. We're a
club. It would be great to have someone on the CQWW committee. Lets not
wreck it. Lets rule

Subject: [WWYC] WWYC CQ WW Committee Voting. [Explanation]

A copy of the message I sent out last night. Fully stand behind it
for the following reasons:

1) We are suppost to be representing our total club for a this major
moment in our history and less than X% (probably 20%) of our membership
knew this was happening.

2) No opportunity for resumes was given, no comment space was given. It
turned very quickly into a EU vs other contients contest, a I recongize
this call vs that call -- not a solid contest of who people were and
what they could do.

3) The poll was put up quickly to address a deadline we missed. It was
not establish by concensus, nor were the rules. It just happened.

4) No other opporunity was given to reach the membership on behalf of
a campaign.

5) This message was discuss with Lucas LU1FAM before hand and he granted
me permission to campaign for him.

6) Something as big as CQWW Committee representative that is to be
choosen by a vote isn't going to go by with just the regular 20 people
voting who visit the chat room and the site -- that is extremely skewed.
I assume that is not the goal of this club.

Feel free to discuss this. I'll be reading and follow up with my point of
view.

During the Dayton Contest Dinner Bob, K3EST asked for a represenative
from WWYC to represent young contesters in the CQWW Contest Committee.

As a WWYC member you are elegible to vote for this individual on our
website http://www.wwyc.net - just login with your username/pass and
vote on the poll on the right side of the screen.

I'm simply reminding you to vote, and as well, asking you if you'd
look over my good friend Lucas, LU1FAM's contest resume and consider
him for your vote.

He is an amazing contester and would make a perfect candiate for this
position. If you don't know Lucas personally, you should. He's an
active member of WWYC both on the radio and on the irc chatroom. You
can usually find him every night on #wwyc on the irc.radiochat.org
server.

Enough of that, now for his contest resume:

- 1st place World ARRL 10M M/S from LT1F 2001, 2002, & 2003.
- 1st place World WPX CW 10M LP 2002 & 2003
- 1st place All Asian CW & SSB 2002 M/S from LT1F
- 1st place All Asian CW M/S 1999 with LU9AY
- World Record WPX CW 10M LP
- SA record CQWW CW 20 SO QRP
- 4th place World ARRL DX 10M CW 2003
- 4th place World WPX CW 10M SO HP 2001
- 5th place World CQWW CW 15M LP SO 2001.
- Holds LU record for NA Spring CW
- Holds LU record in WAE SSB SOAB
- Holds LU record in WAE CW M/S as AY0F
- Operated in WRTC 2002 as part of the LU team. He was the youngest
operator as this prestegious event, being 20 years old.
- And of course, 19th place in NAQP as a member of WWYC team,
  A Princess and Four Lids.

I hope to see you on the radio and/or the chatroom. Remember to vote
so that our choice represents the greater WWYC community. If you have
problems logging on, send Hrle 9A6XX a email at 9a6xx at wwyc.net
