Though geographically these are a part of Asia they belong to UEFA -
European Football Union. Same with Azerbaidjan, Georgia etc.

As far as I know, ex-USSR countries have chosen to compete in UEFA. Cyprus
is in many ways a part of Europe, like Turkey.
Case Israel is a bit different: many Asian (especially Arabic) countries
don't want to play against Israel.
