One of the UK's premiere domestic contests will be held tomorrow - the
Affiliated Societies Contest will take place between 1400-1800 UTC on
3.510-3.590 kHz CW only. Exchange is a report plus serial number and
scoring is 10 points per station worked regardless of location and there are
no multipliers. Although UK stations can work non-UK stations for points,
overseas stations cannot enter the contest beyond sending in a check log,
unfortunately.

This is a good opportunity for UK lids to get on and help their clubs as
after the contest, local clubs combine scores from up to five operators to
give a team score. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to have a
WWYC entry as all entrants in a team must be located within 50 miles of the
club's normal meeting place.

For novice CW contesters (inside or outside the UK) this is a particularly
good opportunity to get experience as the contest features a "QRS corral"
betweeen 3.570-3.590 kHz in which speed is limited to 12 words per minute or
the speed of the station calling CQ, whichever is **slower**.

Hope to see you on the bands tomorrow,
