Guys 'n Gals, most of you reading this are also subscribed to the CQ Contest
'flector. No doubt you've all read the message that WRTC2006 in Brazil has spotted
the massive WWYC potential so there will be some teams with young operators. Maybe
you've also read in another message posted there that Ward N0AX is supervising the
WRTC entry class within the IARU HF contest, for the third year now?
This is a good opportunity for WWYC to show up again. WWYC has always manned the top
3 in the previous WRTC-style class. It means that you do a 2 operator M/S mixed mode
in the IARU contest but with some limitations to comply with real WRTC conditions. It
is a battle of honor! The complete information can be found here:
http://www.wwdxc.org/wrtcrule.htm
I think WWYC can easily team up for this in countries like G, DL, 9A, S5, SP, W, SM,
GM, LZ. So come on guys, this *really* is fun, and for those with serious WRTC
ambitions: this is an excellent way to see if you and your partner are up to the job!
Other than that the IARU contest is a 24h format with exceptional rates even for
modest stations. The WRTC class is modest by definition. There is *no* excuse to miss
this one!
Time to assemble teams... Belgian HF Devils will be there - again!
