You are completely right!

WRTC today only permits those with already good propagation or those with
big bucks that can afford to travel to good propagation to participate.
The only way to make WRTC an -even- event is to invite all countries that
like to participate into this event, then the national society or contest
clubs can decide through elections who goes.

Still to be realistic there would need to be a demand that there are at
least a certain amount of contesters active in that country, say 20 active
stations. Then you can avoid teams participating for Ducie island or
whatever.

Countries with a lot of participants could get the opportunity to send more
teams.

The thought of using the personal scores is good but this rule should
instead be applied within the country itself, also in some sort giving those
who live in "black-holes" a handicap on their score.

I think this is something for the next WRTC organizers to reflect over, to
me it seems strange that there are like 15 teams from US only participating
with the rest...

Hello!

Looking at simply contest scores are useless. A good score doesnt always
tell who is a good operator or not. I mean, a guy from Italy with a dipole
can kick my ass if we get aurora, even though I have yagis. I don't have any

good ideas what to do with these selections. I guess that if you consider
stuff as location, propagation, equipment etc you can compare scores.
Otherwise it's useless since we'll have three teams consisting of guys from
Portugal, Spain and Italy. There is no way we up north would even get a
chance, not that I am interested but anyway.

Just my five cents...
