Only if the spike is fast enough and strong enough to cause a bandwidth
problem or a non-linearity somewhere.

The spike in question doesnt cause my amps to flat top...my amps (Alpha
87's) have plenty of headroom and I dont push them above the limit (1.5 KW
out).

BTW, that power spike mentioned exists to the same degree whether you run
at 100 watts or 10 watts, and it's about a 10 percent power spike here on
both of mine.

The power spike will do other bad things for you, like make your amp flat
top
and that will make you splatter.
