[Yaesu] W1GEE CAT INTFACE, DX4WIN & FT 1000D

Anyone have problems when using the W1GEE CAT interface & DX4WIN, with a
1000D?

Here's what happens.......I set the rig, baud rate to 4800, & polling rate
to 1000 ms. I click 'save', & then the CAT light blinks once..........&
only one. I know that DX4WIN flashes the 'EPROM 6.0 or better is required',
but being fairly new to the 1000D (bought it used, about a week ago, serial
# 4G380031) I don't know the front panel 'button push(es) ' to check the
firmware version. Manual says nothing.

Any hints or help will be gratefully accepted & appreciated.
