Don't know the answer to that one Brian, but if you want to get rid of it once
and for all go out and
get yourself a JPS ANC-4.  The box runs on 12volts, sets on the RF coax line
and you phase out
the interference using a separate sense antenna.  Doesn't effect the bandwidth
of the IF, like
internal noise blankers...so you get rid of the noise and keep your
selectivity.  But hurry I hear
JPS is getting out of the ham radio business.  MFJ makes a similar device but
it has more knobs
and takes a bit of practice to get it to perform. I have both and use both.
