[Yaesu] FT980 Flaky Operation

Hi Folks,

My buddy has a FT980.  Ten years old.  IT runs great for about 15mins.
then the transmit capability goes away.  Receiver is great but no
transmitter output. You press the mic button the rig goes into transmit
mode but no output.  Turn the rig off for several hours and turn it back

on and it works great for another 15mins.

Any suggestions welcome,
