[Yaesu] FT890

Hi Folks,

My buddies FT890 started sounding garbled when he was transmitting. If
he stopped transmitting for a few minutes it would clear up and sound
great.  Then if he transmitted for a while it would get garbled again.
Then it just quit.

Any ideas as to where to begin look for the trouble?
