Thanks for all the comments and help, it is solved.
Mike, you got me to thinking and I un-taped the wire connections that 
went from the external keyer to the FT-901D and discovered that in my 
frantic  attempts,  I had cut the shield, ground wire out and covered 
over it with tape it. Wiring to the ground and the tip did the job. 
Thanks again to all including Mark & Guillermo. These reflectors can't 
be beat. See you around..
