[Yaesu] FT-890 paint restoration

I just purchased an FT-890 with the former owner's callsign written on the black metal top with red nail polish. Any helpful hints for removing the nail polish and restoring the paint? Other than that nail polish, it's in great operational and cosmetic condition.
