[Yaesu] FT-200(Tempo one)

Hello all I am new to the group.
Been a ham  since 14 and  this Tempo one was my first radio.  I can't seem
to get rid of it for sentimental reasons.
My power out is low and want to replace driver a 12BY7.  RF Parts offers a
USA and a Japan brand.  I know that in the finals it is important to stick
with the Japan brand or use the modification.  I never here of any traffic
regarding the driver. 
Is it important to use the Japan brand driver for twice the cost of the USA
brand?
