[Yaesu] FT1000- Front Panel

I have a FT-1000D whose S-meter needle was sticking and now does not move at 
all. All else in the radio works fine.  I am looking for some guidance as to 
what screws/panels need to be removed in order to remove/check and/or replace 
the "S"meter.  I don't want to disassemble any unecessary items - Looking for 
inputs from those who have experience removing the front panel.
