Comments:
Well, a record score from the new Kelseyville CA QTH . . . record low. Utter
frustration for the first 23 minutes, then the discovery that I was receiving
with an approximately 800Hz shift. Absolutely no indication on the display,
anywhere. No wonder no one could hear my answer. In transit from the Bay Area
many knobs on the FT1000 had been shifted into unfamiliar positions.
K6III was my first QSO from the Kelsevyville (Mt. Dali Dona) QTH. Thanks
Jerry, it was that qso on 80 that clued me in to the frequency shift problem.
Then rapidly worked 9 more stations in 6 minutes on 40 meters. This QTH is the
quietest location imaginable. It's been a long wait through many years of
increasingly noisy urban ham radio.
Anyway, great to be back. I'll be here trying to improve on that 80 points next
week.
