Hello Skip,

I agree with that suggestion. Capacitors are a good idea, provided 
the tolerance  is considered in the design.

Besides your valid concerns about power line transients, 
capacitors also prevent high frequency RF noise from being generated 
by the diodes or PA RF from getting into the diodes.

While resistors have questionable merit, capacitors do provide definite 
advantages.
