? New to my Web site is a photograph (see Figure 15H) of a Henry Radio
Co. amplifier's bandswitch that has a damaged contact and rotor. . In
my opinion, the damage resembles arcing caused by intermittent VHF
parasitic oscillations.

parts fail.

? I doubt that the parts in Henry Radio amplifiers fail solely because
they are defective. A case in point: The Eimac 3CX1200A7 has roughly
5-times as much feedback-C an an 8877. The A7 has a well deserved
reputation for oscillation. I have talked to a number of owners of
Henry 3CX1200A7 amplifiers who have experienced mysterious, intermittent
bandswitch arcing. Eimac apparently realized that there was a problem
with the design of the A7 and redesigned it. The result was the
3CX1200Z7, a tube which has 1/10 as much feedback-C as the A7, and costs
only about 5% more. The Z7 has been available for at least two years,
however, Henry Radio is still using the A7.
>> Where does that info come from? How many are ham?
>> Why has Henry pretty much been eliminated in medical amps?
