I don't know, but I always referred to it as tilting down some "cold" 807's.
Since they were so plentiful after the war, I would imagine some anonymous
(and smartass) ham came up with that phrase when his "XYL" yelled down to
the basement (where his shack was located) and asked him what he was doing
down there.  He sharply responded by saying, " Getting rid of some cold
807's."  The wife having just enough knowledge that an 807 was one of the
strange bottles (the term "bottles" probably ads to the flavor too), that
her husband uses in his radio. Mind you, this is purely presumption on my
part.
Oops, there goes another cold 807!
