I have had numerous RSC switch failures over the years; all of
which were self-induced for one reason or another.
100% of the failures were from contact to adjacent ceramic insulator.
I have actually melted the insulators and the plastic washers used to
cushion the ends. I have never burned up a contact, rotor, or shaft.
I only had to buy new insulators and washers to fix the switch.
I cannot comment on a "9000" type switch....no experience.
