The bean counters are the end-users. Most Hams have limited 
budgets.

Most people wouldn't pay $300 more for the PA just to get the 
same voltage breakdown, although some would because the switch 
"looks bigger".

The problem I'm stuck with is actually improving things. I'd like to 
pick a zero failure switch but it looks like that would take about 
$500 or more in extra retail cost.

Surplus parts can not be used. New vacuum relays are cost 
prohibitive.

Too bad reasonable price HV switches aren't available. I was 
hoping an off-shore company might make something.
