Sand Labs Research/International, _never_ uses or requests custom design
(prototypes) from a vendor, free or otherwise for obvious reasons. We do not
want or have time to debug third part subsystems. You are mistaken if you
think this is our approach to developing a custom system that _has_ to be
perfect
at the first delivery. Please revise your postings!

In our contracted custom products, we are using only of the shelf and mature
components/subsystems, sometimes with the required certifications . In the
case of P.Dahl we were asking for a common transformer that they said they
sell in large quantity (never wanted to specify what "large" meant) to other
customers! And yes, we have given them all information they requested, even
our customer's name and contacts, but to no avail. To our benefit, I might
say :)

This is why the China has gotten our business and Dahl is short of several
hundred's of thousand of dollars.

BTW. It is our policy to deliver to our customers not only the prototype and
it's documentation but also to include a preferred vendor list with a second
source for all of them. If one of the vendors has helped in the development
process of the product then he will get the manufacturing procurement plan
in exclusiveness. This is how business works, in case you do not know yet!

In our effort to find a second source to China, we have discovered
Czechoslovakia. While not as cheap as the Chinese, they do have an
excellent product (they use German machinery) and they are half price of the
US product at our door.

So, the US transformer manufacturers need to wake up or they will go the way
of radios, TVs and other goods went :(

And now back to Amplifiers!

If we can accept the notion that GUNS are
the killers and not the people, why is it that
we can not accept the idea that CARS are
the speeders and not the drivers?

Alex, trying to understand the world around.
