Hi Eric,
As someone else has already suggested, you might try an inquiry on the
qth.com Central-Electronics reflector. I remember discussions on the
subject from the days when the 100V was first introduced. It was a deep
dark secret and details were not available. If you dug into one of the
couplers and destroyed it, you were apparently out of luck! I later
heard that the couplers were hand made and tuned and that the rejection
rate was about 50% as I recall. The only thing in print on the subject
that I am aware of is an article by the late Katashi Nose, KH6IJ, (one
of the all time best CW contesters ever) who attempted to replicate the
coupler to put his 100V on 160 mx. His comments might be of interest.
You can download a copy of the article from BAMA. It is found in the
100V folder under "mods."
I'm sure we would all like to hear what you discover as you explore this
