The Paragon uses a low-pass/hi-pass cascade
for the receiver, but only the low-pass filters are used
on the TX side. The low-pass filters are made with
beefy components and switched with reed relays
in order to handle the PA output. The hi-pass filters
are receive only and switched with diodes.

Dunno what Kenwoods is doing in their rigs without
consulting a schematic.

The Paragon doesn't use an internal tuner. Both the
Kenwoods have internal auto-tuners, but I typically don't
use them.
