you think the tube puts no current load on the bias supply?

If it is pure AB1, never driven into grid current, and if the capacitor and circuitry have zero leakage, then I don't see why not!

He said he would replace the bias supply with a CHARGED capacitor. Assuming the capacitor and the circuitry show zero leakage and he never drives the amp into ANY grid current, then he never needs to charge it again :-)
