Scott, stop messing around.  If you want to be a big time amp builder start
the way most of us did.

Build yourself an experimental beginner pair of 813's for 20M, fire up and
use it.  Learn how the power supplies work. See how much TVI you can
generate.

Learn what negative lead metering is..

Blow out the control grids

Figure out tube cooling.

Add 15 and 10 meters to it See how it doesn't work for crap.  Add 40 and
80..

Then I built a 4 tuber...  That was way cool.

Then cook yourself a pair of 3-500's or even a pair of 4-400's learn
everything else.  Pick up a B&W kw tank off ebay and put it in there.  See
that they still don't like 10 meters.

Add vacuum variables...

After 30 plus years of dinking around buy a nice expensive bottle and build
a real amp.

BY then it will all be solid state anyway, all of us will be dead and you
will be the new guru of antique amps.
