Because most linears use capacitor input supplies, the power 
factor is huge. Even a 6000va supply is marginal for a 3000 
watt amplifier load.

Better look for a 10000va if you don't want to add to wabble 
in HV.

An additional problem is the off and on load. It'll tear 
some supplies up. I had a 4kVa catch fire when the voltage 
ran up over 200 volts during the space between CW 
characters.Using only an ALS-600 amp on 120, and that is 
choke input with a good power factor!
