Ive worked with many broadcast consoles that never experienced those Pin 1 problems. Nor any of the towns CATV or school gear when I was on the Technical and CATV Committees.

The pin 1 problem generally is not a problem with the gear but with the
external wiring

enough to build gear with pin 1 problems these days, the gear would be sent
back asap.
