Insane cap values are not for commercial ham amps, 8 470uF is about a good
limit that allows a reasonable size glitch resistor of 20-25 Ohms 25W but
should use a step start. 330uF is safer without a step start.

cheap on the surplus market as well.
IMO, 1% ripple is the minimum that you should be aiming for in a HV
supply.
That implies 600 uf caps vs 200 uf caps.
