the Alpha parts are rated for less RF voltage and/or current."

You'll find the component quality and ratings of 9500's Pi-L and T/R system
equal to the ACOM 2000A. Differences between SWR limits can be attributed
to firmware.

I've owned both amps and each has been on my bench for repairs. They are
both excellent performers. Each has its strengths and weaknesses - mostly
subtle.

Not yet mentioned is that one can expect ~ 10 dB superior 3rd-order IMD
performance with the 9500. This is of a lesser concern when using an ANAN
transceiver with the latest PowerSDR mRx software. NR0V's pre-distortion
algorithm can clean-up most any dirty amp by 10-15 dB when the amp is
included in the correction loop.

### What exactly did you have to repair on the 9500 / Acom 2000A ?
