Why guess how much we pay in salaries and benefits, or how much advertising
revenue there is? It's printed in every May QST. Can't we get back to
bashing contest announcements in QST?

Thanks for your thoughts, Tree. I enjoyed the SS writeup in this year's
announcement. It did seem like an attempt to drum up activity and make
it seem more interesting to those that don't operate. I was somewhat
concerned about one thing...

I was reading the rules in the first place to refresh my memory on an
arcane point in the rules. At first glance, I came to the conclusion
that the rules had been greatly simplified, and that I could do whatever
I wanted in the contest! After thinking "naw, that couldn't be true", I
read the fine print...and got the rules from the internet robot at the
League.

I wonder how many of both the casual participants as well as the "dyed in
the wool SSers" will come to the same initial conclusion I did...and with
what result?

73 and good luck from W5***; I will make a return journey to W6** to
attempt to regain a place in the top ten on CW from the left coast.

Ok, this is the one everyone is looking for, the last one. I received
only one score in the last week. I have really enjoyed doing this and
hope I proved myself good enough to do it for the CQWW SSB Contest at
the end of the month. I will offer my services and see what happens.
Hope to see everyone in the JARTS contest next weekend. Looks like the
bands are picking up for both contests.

**********************************************************************

You need to look at the entire sheet every now and then. People are
sending me corrected scores and I am changeing them on the sheet. So
if someone moves up and down it is because of new info they have sent
me.

When you see a number between the QTH and the DX column it means that
the station added those two together and sent it to me. If they send
me a split of them I will update it.

Don't forget that info beside your call like this (UN or ASST) means
that you never sent which you were. If I do not know then I put you
in the higher one. Let me know if I have anyone in the wrong class.

ps: Remember if you send me your breakdown I cannot repost them on
the reflector. If you wish for everyone to see the breakdown you will
need to send them to the reflector yourself.
