buy her a new computer for a wedding gift?
how are the speakers driven? i have a pair of cheap radio shack
speakers driven off a soundblaster board. i had allsorts of rf
problems until i figured out that i should get rid of the power
cube and instead of using the internal amps in the speakers i run
them off the amplified output from the soundblaster. no caps, no
toroids, and no more rf.

In response to the many who requested this information:
Several weeks ago I received a catalog from Titanex - in
German. Lucky thing my secretary is German and is
excellent at technical translation!
So here's the deal. Titanex makes a wide variety of antennas
including HF Yagis, Cubical Quads, Verticals, and HF log
periodics. All looked to be very well designed and made.
For instance, they make a full size 3 element 40 yagi and
a 13 element 7-30 mhz log periodic.
There is no US distributor but they will ship from the factory
direct to the US.
The antenna that particularly interested me is the V 160 E,
which is a 26 meter high vertical for 160, 80, and 40. It comes
with or without a 3KW remote antenna tuner. The antenna is
very lightweight at 7.5 kg and is guyed at four heights. Guys
are included. There is an expedition version (the V160 E) and
a non-portable version (the V160). Principle difference is the
shipping length 3.1 meters for the E and 6.1 meters for the
standard unit. Unfortunately 3.1 meters is too long for me to
take to Ambergris Caye, Belize. 2 meters would work fine....
sigh.....
Pricing is high for this unit but pricing for their other antennas
seems in line with the industry.
Pricing to me - and this may be a special case - landed in
Los Angeles, including air freight is $1366 without tuning
box, $1919 with the remote 3KW tuner - which you need for
160 meter operation.
