And what happens to the small manufacturer who makes products
used in many different segments of amateur radio when the DX
forum is in one hotel, the antenna and contest forums are in
another hotel, the RTTY and AMSAT forums are in a third and the
VHF/UHF (weak signal) are someplace else?

It is sometimes difficult enough for a small manufacturer to
afford the cost of a single booth, costs to ship material to
the Hamvention, and travel/lodging/food costs for two or three
persons away from home for a week. Now you want to double or
triple those costs by exhibiting at one of more sub shows?

There is no doubt that this year's "Saturday at Crowne Plaza"
was nice for a limited segment of the Dayton crowd. However, if
that's the formula for the future, why not move it to another
venue/date completely. Make the event Saturday/Sunday AM ...
pack it with Contest, Antenna and DX events and don't burden
it with or compete with the rest of Hamvention.
