Yes, it must be confusing to the DX when a W6 gives FL for a state or 
what appears to be the wrong zone in the CQWWDX.  I'd like to see the US 
go back to the old system.  It burns me when a rare DX in Africa is 
working the pile by the numbers and when he gets to the 6 and 7's the 6 
and 7's on the East Coast work him and leave the REAL 6 and 7's 
lacking.  Of course it works the same for the East Coast when the DX is 
in Asia or OC and asks for 1, 2, or 3's and all the 1, 2, and 3's in the 
Western US make the contacts and leaves the East Coast hanging.  Also 
makes it interesting when the US states DMV call letter license plates 
show calls for areas outside the state where the plates are issued.  But 
I shouldn't talk, my auto ham license plates issued to me in the 
Philippines has my former US call letters.
