        It *isn't* a big issue! And that is in spite of all the hand  
wringing here.

        The assisted amateur is one who is using some method that tells him  
where "the action is" He/she picks from that listing, and uses it to  
benefit his or her score. It's pretty simple, really.

        What we have here is simply nitpicking, with the compulsory slippery  
slope that accompanies such. Bust the rulez. It is a game a lot of  
people play. Some have more fun doing that than they do  actually  
contesting, I suspect!  8^)

        It's mostly harmless, but I suspect that it can sometimes be a  
deterrent to new contesters, and can be a real headache to those who  
make the rules. I also hope that we not doing the contesting  
community harm with this sort of thing.

        If any organizers do that, it will be the first time that it has  
ever been done.
