I had an interesting "worked before" encounter in CQ WPX Phone and don't know
if this has been discussed anywhere.
I operated assisted, so was able to get spots of needed prefixes.
I called some 3-land station above 7200 and he said "Worked before". I said
"No". He told me it was my QSO #271. I said I worked 5D5A at that time. 5D5A
must have been using the same QSX frequency (or something close to the
3-lander) and both thought they had worked me, based on timing, etc.
Two thoughts arose:
1. Why didn't the guy just work me without the argument?
We both would have saved time.
2. I should have read 5D5A his call, or the QSO # he sent me, so that the
3-lander knew I wasn't working him.
Something to keep in mind when working split.
