IMHO, unfortunately, sometimes signing /QRP works.
(TX) > CQ TEST W9YT
(RX S9+20)< VE3CX
(RX S9+20)< K7ZD
(RX S9+20)< KU7Y
(RX S7) < W9WI/QRP
If the first three HP stations all clobber each other, what letters sneak out
from under the mess & get copied? Yep, it's "QRP". My choice is to
ignore the /QRP, send "?", and hope I don't get another pile of identical S9+20
signals -- or come back to the QRP station.
Of course, if
(RX S9) < WB9NME/4
is part of the pileup, the /QRP isn't going to help at all!
