*Object:*
To contact as many stations as possible with a focus on contacting stations
in Zeroland
*(Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and
South Dakota).*

**16:00 UTC Saturday to 04:00 UTC Sunday..

Entry Categories:

   - In Zeroland
      - *Single Operator*:
      One person performs all transmitting, receiving and logging
      functions.
      One transmitted signal allowed at a time.  Use of spotting assistance
      is allowed.

       - High Power (> 125W), or "More than 125w"
            - CW/Digital
            - Phone
            - Mixed

            - Low Power (< = 125W), or "125w and less".
            - CW/Digital
            - Phone
            - Mixed

            - *Multi-Operator:*
      More than on person performs all transmitting, receiving, and logging
      functions.

       - *Single Transmitter*:
         One transmitted signal at any given time.  10 minutes between
         band/mode changes. No power or mode categories.

         - *Multi Transmitter:*
         One transmitted signal per band per mode at any given time.  No
         power or mode categories.

         - *Zeroland Expedition*:
      A temporary station setup in a Zeroland state in which the operators
      do not reside using temporary antennas (put the antenna up for
the contest
      and take it down after the contest).
      Those using the station of an inactive Zeroland operator need to enter
      one of the categories above.

      - *Mobile*:
      Station capable of operating in motion.

  *US State or Canadian Province or “DX” for stations outside of the US and
Canada.
59/599 maybe added as needed to satisfy requirements for those that are
working other contests, but a
“signal report” is not relevant to this contest.

*Bands:*
160, 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters only.

Multipliers:

In Zeroland:

   - Each US State (50) (DC counts as MD), Canadian Province (14), and
   DXCC Country Stations count once per band per mode (Phone, CW, Digital).

   *Outside Zeroland:

   *
   - Stations count once per band per mode (Phone, CW, Digital).
   - Each Zeroland state (8) per band per mode

*QSO Points:
*  Stations count once per band per mode (Phone, CW, Digital).
One point for contacts with stations outside Zeroland.  Five points for
contacts
with stations inside Zeroland.  Duplicate QSOs are 0 points, but do not
incur any penalties.

*Scoring:
*Mobile stations that change states are considered new stations each state
and can be worked again for multiplier and/or QSO points.
The mobile should be logged with the two letter state abbreviation following
a / on the end of the call sign after the contact in the first state.    The
Total score is (QSO Points * Total Multipliers).

*Awards: *
Plaques and/or certificates will be awarded as participation warrants.
Minimum 100 QSOs to be eligible for an award.

*Logs:*
  Only digital Cabrillo logs will be accepted.  Logs should indicate times
in UTC, bands, modes, calls and required contest exchange (sent and
received). All stations include your station callsign, mailing address,
operator callsigns, club's name in the log header.
Entries must be submitted within 15 days of the end of the contest and sent
by email to logs@zerolandqsoparty.com .  Written logs will not be accepted.

*Other:*
All stations are allowed to use spotting assistance, but self spotting will
only be allowed on 10m and 160m.
As this is the first running of the Zeroland QSO Party, check the
website www.zerolandqsoparty.com
periodically for changes/clarifications to the rules.  In fairness for
stations making preparations for the contest, two months from the contest
date the rules will become static and any changes or clarifications that
affect station operation with be looked at for 2012’s ZQP.
By submitting a log for the Zeroland QSO Party the entrant agrees that all
decisions made by the Zeroland QSO Party log checking committee and the Iowa
Wireless Club are final.
