First off, ASIA is a very large place. In contest parlance it exists from
Japan to Turkey on the East-West dimension and from Singapore to way up in
Siberia on the North-South dimension. For example, the path from Singapore
to Kuwait is 4,150 miles (6,679 KM); from Tokyo to Kuwait City 5,165
(8,312 KM); and from Colombo to Dolgans (Siberia) is about 6,000
miles, give or take a few miles.
In propagation hops, that is 2-3 from Colombo to Tokyo and 3 hops from
Singapore to Kuwait city, depending on the month and other factors. These
paths on 160 and 80 are known to be killers.

Comparing, the distances and hops in Europe are much smaller and the low
bands much easier to generate many contacts. NA and JA would be similar.

So, is it much more difficult to make contacts and points if all of Asia
counts little and one is IN Asia. It is a long pull to any population
centers outside of Asia. Then, when Asia is considered as a unit, it is
clear that is hardly equal to, say, EU.

How about splitting Asia into 4 ?
