I have been, and am, on a couple of those on-line forums. I have always
preferred the e-mail format. It's simpler and faster to use. When I'm out
on the road, I occasionally have to use a landline connection for internet.
My gmail account is easy and fast to access via dial-up. The forum pages
often take 15 to 20 minutes to load via dial-up, if it even works.

I read my e-mail on the Gmail webmail page. I only actually download e-mail
to my computer every couple days. I use Thunderbird for that. I've never
been crazy about Outlook.
