hi guys,

i have read quite a few ideas about restructuring the CQ WW. obviously there is
a need to modernise this contest.

preserving old scores is a foolish reason. present radios have -40 db compared
to the plus 10 db of the older sets. antennas are now computer designed and on
and on. there is no comparison between today's contest and that of even 10
years ago.

regards to the USA competition there is no way for a west coast station to
compete with one in the east coast. period.

if you complain that very few young operators are joining our ranks consider
the fact that quite a number of "contest stations" on the west coast have been
organized in the last 15 years and all have quit after finding there is no way
to win. forget the "fun", everyone wants to win. no competition here versus the
" big east coast three". there is no place for the new and young operator to
get experience. this is a contest for the old men with experience and the rich
who can provide a super station.

contest directors please take note. change the structure of the CQ WW or the
contest dies with us.
