The point of the team member choice discussion is not about forcing teams
which obviously helps no one.  Its about calling all of the participants
qualifying when only half qualified.  It's a long way from the Olympics
folks.

 

I think the concept of having regional competitions of the actual teams
trying to qualify makes total sense.  The year before the WRTC, the regions
hold qualifying events in the IARU contest.  The teams or individuals
compete for team or individual slots.  The winners of the regions go to the
next year global competition.  What's so bloody hard about that?

 

Its like contester's field day.  Any many of us have no problem spending
time on that.
