I beg to differ.  Comcast seems to be doing some things to improve reliability.

Yes, they have, and they did stay up during a 16 hour outage last week. But their system has yet to be tested in the long blackout that this one is likely to be (they're saying prepare for Sunday).

More to my particular situation -- I'd ordered, received, and paid for the Starlink system more than a year ago. Also, what happens if a key feed to the Comcast system is physically broken? As we learned here in the mountains, redundancy is a wonderful thing.

BTW -- W6GJB, who has no Comcast and whose telco lines are so bad that DSL doesn't work, is thrilled with his Starlink. He has a lot more open sky than I do.
