Ron: I totally agree. I've been an advocate of the COS for several years. I'm
constantly suggesting to the members of our contest club to use it - mostly to
help BIC time to increase scores for the club and increase overall enjoyment.
I often refer to contesting as radiosport and I've asked what other sport(s) do
not use real time scoring. I said that to my XYL the other day and she
replied: "boxing" (she's always one step ahead of me). I bet there are others
too. For those who don't want to share operating strategy, in N1MM+, you can
exclude band breakdown and exclude real time QSO data for real time scoring.
I'm sure for those who don't have a problem with BIC and are gonna be on for a
full duration contest anyway may not perceive the BIC benefit but the "fun
factor" of chasing or staying ahead stations really does keep me engaged. YMMV
of course.
