Because I think it was broken at one time and I don't know whether it has been 
fized. 

 From release notes:
9.62

* There is a good change that the above change fixed the DVP crash with
  a ramdrive setup. I did not test this.

I know that I have had to remove ramdrives in order to use DVP after a certain 
rev.  Turn on disk caching and you won't have to worry about setting up a RAM 
drive.
