I'm not sure what type of core you are referring to. It sounds like it
isn't a toroid. However, on a 2.4" OD toroid of type 31 material, 4
turns would be only a couple hundred ohms at 80 meters, probably not
enough to do anything useful. You could get upward of 5000 ohms with 14
turns, assuming you could fit that many.
