I built the Moxon without the receiver and use it with a wideband HT. I built
a simple step attenuator with 30 db of attenuation in 10 db steps.
It works well.

article in QST describing such an antenna, which I use with a shirt-pocket
handi-talkie with 136 MHz AM aircraft band. The null off the back is deep and
narrow. "
