Having a radio on, ANY RADIO, while starting a car electrical system is just
asking for a blown radio! There are VERY high voltage spikes that are in the
common car systems. Do you power your radio directly from the battery? That,
and using a relay such that the radio does not get power while the starter is
cranking, will save your radio from many a hard time.
