I certainly concur with Ron's, WD5FUN, comments regarding the software that
Carl, N4PY has made available to the Pegasus community. The Pegasus is an
amazing transceiver, due in no small part to Carl's software.
Last March I sent an e-mail to Carl inquiring if anything could be done to
provide band information which follows the Pegasus on the computer LPT port.
In a day or so Carl e-mailed a DOS routine (pegport.exe) which accomplished
this. It took awhile for me to assemble the hardware but I've been using
pegport and the interface to auto bandswitch the Hercules II for some time
now. It's a great feature which restores the "hands free" capability to the
amplifier when using the Pegasus. Pegport was introduced by Carl in version
1.36.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is using Pegport and in the
application...amp control, antenna switching, etc.
