Larry,
Modern practice is the SINGLE POINT external ground, which should be at your
antenna transmatch. Everything feeds to that point as a star ground, such as
the coax shield from the rig.   It avoids ground loops and common mode
interfering signals. IF the common of the radio goes to chassis, (and it may
not), then it will get grounded at the transmatch, which is the ONLY place
it should go to an external ground.  Grounding the case of the switcher is
inviting RFI or worse.  Astron Linear supplies were floated at the supply DC
negative lead, unless someone jumpered them to chassis.  Isolating the DC
points has been pretty standard for years.
